Anand Raman was walking towards his sister’s office when he saw a puppy seeking shade under a car, one hot day in Dubai. The dog was filthy and was eating leftover food of what seemed like what the workers have been giving him. Anand could not help but notice that the dog looked like there was something wrong with his legs.

When the dog saw Anand, he ran to him like any dog would do as if they were best friends for a long time. The dog was very excited to see him and came up to him with a happy face and a wagging tail. He was not able to resist this sweet dog and stayed with him for a while on the sidewalk.

Petting the pup, he seemed to be enjoying every bit of it. With this, Anand decided to save his life and give him a new home. Anand carried the dog to his car to bring home. Together with his sister and brother-in-law, they decided to stop by an animal hospital first to have him checked.

Right before leaving, they noticed that the dog immediately fell asleep on Anand’s shoulders. They were able to let the dog sleep peacefully during the whole drive to the clinic. The vet was able to confirm that the poor dog had rickets in both of his front legs which Anand seemed to have noticed earlier.

The condition was caused by malnutrition. Fortunately, rickets is treatable and does not cause a long-term effect on the pup. After arriving home, Anand bathed the dog and to his surprise, with all the dirt and dust gone, his fur was pure white. With that, he named the dog Snowy. With his new home, Snowy had to adjust to lots of changes according to Anand.

Most times, Snowy was confused about where to go about in the house so he would stay in one corner. Also, during walks outside the house, Snowy would be very anxious about the streets, possibly thinking that he would be left to live there again. He would drag his leash and go back to the parking lot of their home. Fortunately, after around two months, Snowy was able to adapt to his loving home.
